Me, underwater in the (very cold!) river
This stop motion piece creates a visual narrative inspired by the band Talking Heads. Set to a sample from their song “Once In A Lifetime,” I created a series of individual scenes composed from hundreds of still photos. Producing this piece required fully embodying the scenes to truly take on the meaning of the work. I photographed highway on-ramps (where does that highway go to?), laid in the grass and gazed at the sky (into the blue again), and even submerged myself in the river that runs through campus to literally “let the water hold me down.”
